Stags represent in Paris at the inaugural Pride World Cup

The London Stags have returned from their first international tournament, taking part in the first Pride World Cup, hosted in Paris.

Competing with IGR teams from France, Spain, Belgium and the UK, 8 teams competed to win at the illustrious The French National Rugby Center, south of Paris.

The Stags started out strong, with our first match vs Les Rebelyons (Lyon), with Tries from Garin Scammel and Tomi Crane, the Stags finished 21-0 with 3 conversions from James Fraser.

After an amazing start the Stags took their energy to the next game vs Madrid Titanes where the Stags steal another win 31-5. Some fantastic Tries from Michael Stanley, Tomi Crane, Josh Jones & Garin Scammel and 2 x conversions from James Fraser.

Having won our games, we made it to the final, against Les Gaillards, a formidable Parisian team, and despite a huge effort from everyone on the team, we sadly lost 0-34.

We feel incredibly lucky to have been given the opportunity to take part in the tournament, meeting so many other members from the IGR community to drive inclusivity across the game.
We’re super excited for the rest of the season and we’re looking forward to Unity Cup next month and Bingham Cup in Rome next year.
