We're the London Stags, South London's largest LGBTQ+ inclusive rugby club, and on Saturday 12 September we're opening our doors for New Members Day. We only run it twice a year, so if you've been thinking about trying rugby, this is the moment.
Who it's for
Anyone. You don't need previous rugby experience or an athletic body. In rugby there's a position for everyone.
What happens on the day
10.30am: Arrive, meet the team and other new members
11.30am: Taster session. Our coaches will take you through the basics of passing, kicking and tackling, at a pace that suits beginners
Afterwards: Meet all new and current members of the club and stay for some snacks.
What happens next
If you want to keep going, Kickoff, our four-week beginner programme, starts straight after New Members Day. Over four sessions you'll build up handling, contact confidence, rucks and set pieces, so by week five you're ready to join regular club training. If Union isn't for you, our Touch rugby New Members Day follows in October.
What to bring
Trainers, a water bottle and suncream. We'll take care of the rest. It's completely free.
